Health Systems Analysis Immersion — San Diego 2016

As an MHA@GW student, you will take part in four immersion experiences that will provide you with an opportunity to hone your leadership skills and gain exposure to different health systems around the world.
The next Health Systems Analysis Immersion, held in San Diego Oct. 24–28, enables students to critically examine and analyze the structure, function and operations of a distinguished health system in Southern California. MHA@GW students will gain a firsthand perspective of population health management and present their findings.
Featured San Diego Health Systems
Students will visit various health systems during the San Diego immersion, including:
- UC San Diego (UCSD) Health: Ranked the No. 1 health system in San Diego by U.S. News & World Report, UCSD is San Diego’s only academic medical center.
- Kaiser Permanente: Offers comprehensive health care services including primary care, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics.
- Public Health Services: Works to prevent epidemics and the spread of disease, protect against environmental hazards, prevent injuries, respond to disasters and assure the quality of health services throughout the county.
- VA San Diego Healthcare System: Provides high-quality health care and compassionate services to more than 235,100 veterans in the San Diego area.

When students are not in working sessions, they will have the opportunity to enjoy the sites and attractions that San Diego has to offer. Popular destinations in San Diego include the sandy beaches of La Jolla, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo and the Gaslamp Quarter.
