Why Choose MHA@GW?
The Health Policy & Management department at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University has been developing dedicated leaders of health care and health-related organizations for more than 50 years. The school’s deep roots in the Washington, D.C. medical community, along with its commitment to driving advances in both technology and theory, have helped build a reputation of excellence in both service and scholarship.
MHA@GW delivers an Executive Master of Health Administration designed to build multidimensional skills essential to successful leadership in health care organizations — and allows students to earn it without putting their life on hold.
The Milken Institute School of Public Health holds MHA@GW applicants to the same high standards as residential students, and delivers the same rigorous curriculum in the online program. Along with the prestigious reputation a graduate degree from George Washington University carries, MHA@GW graduates also have lifelong access to the GW alumni networks.
The Online Experience
MHA@GW classes are delivered using innovative virtual classroom technology. Through the use of live video conferencing, students participate in face-to-face weekly class sessions hosted by renowned GW faculty. These intimate class sessions feature a small student-to-teacher ratio, and promote meaningful discussion between students and faculty. As health care administration is inherently a human relationship business, these live discussions foster valuable collaboration between students.
Leading up to the weekly class sessions, MHA@GW students complete engaging, self-paced multimedia coursework, which then drives the live discussions. Students also have access to a host of resources to supplement the educational experience. Benefits for online students include:
- High-quality, faculty-designed video coursework — available 24/7
- Connections to faculty and peers through online social connection channels
- The opportunity to build a global professional network from day one
- Access to all the benefits of the GW graduate experience, such as library resources, student and career services, and a global community of well-connected GW alumni
- The ability to participate in GW’s on-campus commencement
Upon graduation, you become a lifetime member of the global George Washington Alumni Association (GWAA). This organization works to engage alumni with fellow graduates, students and the university. The GWAA has more than 225,000 members in all 50 states and in 150 countries around the world.
You also enter into a community of Health Policy & Management department alumni that includes respected leaders across the spectrum of health care delivery.
